Michael Calcagni, DPT 

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Michael has a passion to help others and to be a steward of his community. He started this business to be able to address the limitations of large clinics and focus on the needs of his clients. Michael has a unique skill set that sets him apart. He is known for his empathy, compassion, and ability to think outside the box. 

Michael's introduction to physical therapy was through his wife, Lauren, a physical therapist. After seeing how much joy she had for helping people, he decided to change careers and earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy . He is a magna cum laud graduate from Franklin Pierce University and alumni of the University of Rhode Island. 

He further pursued to combine his two passions of golf and physical therapy.  He is  a Titleist Performance Institute certified instructor. He has won multiple club championships and is a scratch golfer.

 

Michael is also a dry needling practitioner who was part of the first class certified in Rhode Island. He received his certificate from Myopain in 2015.

Michael  is co-owner of a consulting company that works to standardize functional testing for rare neuromuscular diseases..

Lauren Calcagni, MSPT

Masters of Science of Physical Therapy

Lauren found her profession at a young age. As an athlete, she had bilateral ACL reconstruction after injuries from figure skating and tennis. She had a tremendously positive experience during her recovery with physical therapy. Soon after, she knew she found a profession worthy to join. 

She graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Rehabilitation Science and MS in Physical Therapy. She has been practicing for over 15 years; starting off in outpatient clinics, later moving to skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, and most recently helping her clients in the home care setting. 

Lauren is certified in LSVT Big and Loud for Parkinson's Disease, certified Kinsiotaping practitioner, and trained with Coral Brown to complete 200hr Prana Vinyasa Yoga Instruction. 

Michael and Lauren are family oriented and can often be found with their children participating in community and school events in and around Narragansett.
